For this design I chose to stick with a simple, easy to navigate layout. My main goal was to organize the information that was already present on the webpage, in a matter that would make it easier to navigate. I kept the colors that were present in the original site, but muted them down so that the logo would be the main focus. I split the main content area into three different sections, allowing the middle section to be used occasionally for advertisement for upcoming events. I chose to do the three sections of content to cut back on scrolling as much as possible. In the navigation area, I chose to include the mission statement on the pages that would not have subpages within them. For example, the home page shows the mission statement on the right, and the resources page shows sublinks on the right side. I think having the sublinks appear only when they are needed makes navigation between pages easier.

If more time were allowed, I would probably concentrate on making the pages seem less text heavy, because as they are, they don’t seem to have much visual interest that keeps the viewer on the page. However, I’m pretty happy with the outcome of this website overall.
